Outdoor Environments Landscape & Design is a complete landscape design and construction company which is owned and operated on the beautiful Bruce Peninsula just minutes north of Wiarton, ON.

This is a unique area that we live and play in. An area that we recognize as very diverse. From the rocky shores of Georgian Bay to the sandy shores of Lake Huron, we use these existing surroundings to make your outdoor space feel at one with nature. We respect the natural elements- stone, water, soil, wood and plants.

We have been constructing beautiful custom residential landscapes for a long time and with each passing year our passion grows as we love what we do. With over 30 years of experience and excellence, Outdoor Environments Landscape & Design specializes in creating outdoor living spaces and landscapes in both Bruce and Grey Counties.

It was our pleasure to work directly with Outdoor Environments (Keith Butchart and his crew) this past summer, to complete two new driveways, two outdoor living spaces, a covered porch and a newly developed flowerbed as well as make improvements to existing flowerbeds. We were very impressed by how cohesively and efficiently the crew worked, drawing on each member’s strengths. Our project involved removal of existing interlocking brick and preparation of the base before new stone was laid as well as soil amendment and planting. Keith and his crew worked like a “well-oiled machine” to carefully plan, design, and install our chosen product. Product was sourced locally and timelines were kept. Keith answered our questions from the beginning planning stages right through to the last day of our project. He was very patient as changes were made and made us feel as if the quality of the final project was as important to him as to us. We have been a client of Keith’s for almost 20 years. During that time he has worked on three distinctly different properties to improve and enhance the esthetics and usefulness of our outdoor space. With Keith we’ve developed a shore front area that was a wasteland but now is a timeless rock and gardened filled oasis where we swim by day and enjoy evening sunsets and campfires, even marriage proposals by night. Our second project uplifted an historic Oliphant cottage with new lakefront sitting areas and sturdy English gardens beautifying the approach. Keith uses local stone brilliantly and chooses plants most likely to prosper in the environment. He really believes in easy care by using water conservation methods and lots of mulch. Our third project completed a new log home with a beautifying stone pathway, stairs and west facing sitting area in Wiarton stone. Perennial gardens fall way from the front door in colours pink, white and purple at my request. Keith suggested an underground drip watering system to keep these gardens flourishing. Working with Keith we have experienced inspired planning, the use of natural products and high quality plants and great advice on how to achieve our goals of beauty and ease of care.
